The 3 Three Flagships
Chin Wag
Chin Wag ESB combines a chewy malt forward mouth feel balanced by a moderate hopping rate delivered by challenger Golding and fuggles hops. Dangerously Quaff able at 38 IBU, Beer to savor over a good conversation.
Gilpin Black Gold
Dark and beautiful, this London Porter gathers together all of beer’s darker glories. Roast, dark cocoa powder, coffee, peppery/spicy, wood, mushrooms, and dark fruits (plum, fig, raisin), all of which are balanced by a light residual sweetness from crystal malts. The beer finishes moderately dry with medium to medium-high roast, noticeable acidity, and a creamy mouth feel when on the cask.
Lake Lightning
this English Pale isn’t your typical American “hop-shocker.” This light golden brew smells of biscuity dry malts and herbal, spicy hops. The flavor is the cleanest of Hogshead’s offerings, showing less yeast character in fruitiness as well as earthiness. But watch out, because on cask, with various dry-hops, this one can go in all sorts of directions.
